Salt Hill Stream Restoration

Building on the work carried out in Salt Hill Park in 2019, Project Sponge is delighted to working on further plans to bring the stream back to its former glory.

With plans to restore and realign the Salt Hill Stream as it flows through Godolphin Recreation Ground and Baylis Park in Slough, the restoration aims to reconnect the stream to its natural floodplain.

Work to re-mander the stream and create small wetland areas will not impact on the majority of the park spaces, so that these can remain as recreational areas, already in good use by local residents.

Set to start towards the end of 2025 – early part of 2026, the project will act as a flagship example of nature-based solutions,  improving biodiversity and community wellbeing, benefitting all those who use and live near the park.
