Project application

The full business case is developed, partners assembled, and we get approval on our approach – so we can get started.

Teams are assembled and planning for Project Sponge begins in earnest.
Funding formally allocated
Formal allocation of the £7.5m grant is awarded.
Chalvey Flood Action Group
The Chalvey FAG is re-formed with local residents, to support those in the area who have experienced flooding and make a plan for possible solutions.
FPN Launch
Our first FPN Launch welcomes residents to Manor Park Community Centre to talk all things climate and nature.
Climate Action Cafe

River Restoration – Godolphin Park
The feasiblity study begins and monitoring of the area around the river in Godolphin is underway
SuDS at Farnham Road
Procurement begins for the main contractor, and designs are drawn up for Sustainable Drainage Systems.
HCB Flood Action Group
The Flood Action Plan for Huntercombe, Cippenham and Burnham is updated with details of the residents flooding.
Nature Based Solutions
Potential options are prioritised and the short list is drawn up. Monitoring begins.
River Restoration – Godolphin Park
Options are selected for feasible ways to restore the river, and consultation with the community can begin to decide on the most appropriate solution.
